Zumiez Best Foot Forward (BFF) Am contest series presented by Monster Energy gave amateur skaters the chance to rise up and march on. The 3rd annual contest series was an opportunity for Zumiez and Monster Energy to help unearth the next up-and coming amateur skaters in communities across the country. The invitational jam format Am contest series kicked off at Broken Arrow Skatepark in Tulsa, OK on May 23rd and Tempe Skatepark in Tempe, AZ on May 26th before joining up for all 12 stops of the Zumiez Couch Tour 2009.
The 2009 contest threw down next-level skating at each stop across the country. The overall top 3 from the BFF finals in Minneapolis: Anthony Grant from Portland Oregon, Ishod Wair from Philadelphia, and John Oskvarek from Chicago got an all expense paid trip to the Hometown Heroes finals at X-Games 15 in Los Angeles.
Twenty spots in each local BFF qualifier are up for grabs for the first 20 skaters to register. The top three skaters from each BFF open qualifier will be invited to compete in the BFF contest later that day.
The top Am skater from each of the 13 BFF contest stops will be flown to the last stop of the Zumiez Couch Tour at 3rd Lair Skatepark in Minneapolis, MN to compete in the Best Foot Forward Finals. The winners from the 14 BFF stops were:
