How are Bonfire snowboarding pants?
I know they make good jackets, what about pants? FYI im thinking about buying the Bonfire Fusion pants. I was also thinking Volcom, 686 or Salomon. Any recommendations? I usually buy from surf shops and i live on the east coast, so yeah i need stuff that retains water but im not going to spend a ton of money on stuff like gore-tex .
Bonfire makes great gear all around. However, I think the Fusion might only be 5K waterproofing? Look for the waterproofing and breathability ratings on all outerwear you are thinking of purchasing. 8K to 10K is usually what I look for when I am buying. I know sometimes the higher ratings are going to accompany pants that cost more, but it will be worth it. Also, look for leg vents, you will be thankful on warm spring days. I own a few pair of Bonfire pants, Last year I purchased the ARC pant that was 10K waterproofing and 8K breathability. My girlfriend has had really good luck with 686 pants as well.
I am not familiar with Volcom’s outerwear, however I have had good luck with their street clothes and wakeboard gear.
Salomon and Bonfire are part of the same company (I think they still are) so the quality "should" be pretty similar.
Have a good season.
