Richard Burton Interview Parkinson Show 1
A great Interview of Richard Burton in 1973. He just came out from the Hospital and is quite nervous. What a voice, he died too young.

Burton was one of …
Burton was one of the last of a breed of men…real men who knew their faults and didn’t bother trying to cover them up, not like todays pampered poofs like Brad Pitt, Cruise and the rest.

No HenryCorbetson, …
No HenryCorbetson, you are wrong, he was a poor (Welsh) man’s son who made a name for himself from nothing and out of nowhere and is second to NO actor.
Olivier was WAY over-rated and came from a very privileged English aristocratic background.
Olivier would almost certainly never have nade it had he been born into a poor Welsh mining family.
That’s the difference between the two men.

This takes me back, …
This takes me back, and I remember watching the origiinal interview with Michael Parkinson. Richard Burton was a true Welshman who was very intelligent and possessd immense talent. Moreover, he was so down to earth with no side to him, quite an attribute when considering his past icon status and accumulated wealth. He was born in the village of Pontrhydyfen near Neath, which was also the birthplace of opera singer Rebecca Evans and tenor Ivor Emmanuel. What talent I’m sure you’d agree.
